Central Valley Youth Chorus Behavior Contract

The purpose of this contract is to enable families and the directors to work toward the same goals, and for all members of the choir to commit equally to the development of the ensemble.

So that we can all have a fantastic and successful season, we ask that you:

  • Check in and out of each rehearsal on the attendance sheet in a timely manner.

  • Bring your music folder to each practice with a sharpened pencil and a bottle of water.

  • Bring your best singing posture and follow the director’s instructions throughout rehearsal.

  • Turn off and stow out of sight cell phones and any other electronic devices before coming into the room.

  • Arrive 5-10 ahead of time and be seated with all required materials at the start of rehearsal, so your singer will not have to rush, and will always get a warm up.

  • Do not bring any food or gum into rehearsals.

  • Do not bring anything that may be a distraction during rehearsal.

  • Show exemplary behavior during rehearsals.

  • Place all calendar dates on your main calendar and make sure to record updates of the calendar.

  • Attend all rehearsals and performances, unless excused by the director well in advance.

  • Attend the final two rehearsals before any performance.

  • Should a singer miss more than two rehearsals per semester, it will be up to the discretion of the director to assess whether the singer is prepared to perform.

  • Take care of your music, and turn it in at the end of the semester in good condition. Lost folders will be assessed a $20.00 fine.

  • Study your music at home.

  • Bring your voice, enthusiasm and energy to rehearsals and be prepared to make beautiful music!
